Moon conjunct Venus in Aquarius -and- the Solar Plexus Chakra

December 28th 2019: Three days after the New Moon solar eclipse in Capricorn, the Moon meets Venus in Aquarius. This is the fourth of nine Moon/Venus conjunctions in this cycle, representing Inanna’s ascension through the Solar Plexus chakra gate.

The Solar Plexus is our organ for multidimensional perceptions and expressions of self-mastery. We use it to probe our environments for vibrational information about our self-esteem, our personal authority, and our belief in ourselves. When our solar plexus is compromised, we associate confidence with wholeness and insecurity with loss. To paraphrase the lesson of  Inanna’s descent through the solar plexus gate, “the mission is to never lose one’s dignity regarding the circumstances.” Now as Inanna ascends we state our intentions to open the Solar Plexus, stepping into our mastery of this Venus cycle from a new home base of confidence.

The Moon and Venus 10° Aquarius form a square to Vesta in Taurus, who is motionless at 12° and stationing direct the next day. Vesta is providing answers from last August’s Aquarius Full Moon that took place with Sun conjunct Venus, and Vesta in T-square to Sun/Venus and the Moon. This asked us: What do we do when we run out of fuel for the hearth, when all available resources have been exhausted? Which brings us into our Solar Plexus chakra opening meditation: Who we really are, how we really feel about ourselves, how in touch we are with our authentic values- these are the things that determine how we carry on when all our plans have failed. A cleared and opened Solar Plexus chakra receives heat and light directly from connection to Gaia.

Mercury is at 29° Sagittarius, building a trine to Uranus, who is still glowing from the charge of the Capricorn New Moon solar eclipse and Sun conjunct Jupiter. Interestingly, on the chart for Inanna’s descent through the Solar Plexus gate of this Venus cycle, Mercury was at 29° Pisces.

Both descending and ascending Solar Plexus gates of this cycle with Mercury at anaretic degrees honors the mentally straining exhaustion of knowing you’ve done everything in your power to keep the sacred inner flame alive, while the increasing pressure of Saturn’s conjunction to Pluto throughout 2019 has been like a lid over a candle that is rapidly consuming every last oxygen molecule available.

“The brighter the light, the darker the shadow” is more than a cliche, and it is unfortunately common for beings with high level capacity for carrying sacred flame to live under constant attack, resulting in trauma that forces us to close up in self defense, for survival. Pluto, Saturn, and the south node in Capricorn have made this year feel like the final boss battle for these issues. Vesta’s retrograde in Taurus has been the key to learning how to continue to be the light when all is bleak and hurting.

With an open Solar Plexus and blazing sacred inner flame, I welcome the plot twists and scene changes of the Capricorn New Moon solar eclipse trine Uranus, activated by Mercury’s transit trine Uranus on December 30th, and counting down to January 2020 and the super-conjunction of Sun, Mercury, Ceres, Pluto, and Saturn.
