Uranus in Taurus

May 15th 2018: Uranus enters Taurus.  The planet that expanded humanity’s awareness of the solar system beyond the visible planets is said to be in its fall in Taurus. It’s a difficult placement because anything transiting through the sign Uranus rules (Aquarius) will be met by a challenging square from Uranus.  Jupiter and Saturn will both transit Aquarius and form squares to Uranus in the year 2021.

The chart for Uranus ingress Taurus features two oppositions and two quincunxes.  One set connects three bodies at the 29th final degrees of their signs (Mars opposite Hekate and quincunx Apophis); the other set connects three bodies at Zero or 1° their signs (Persephone in Libra opposite Chiron and quincunx Uranus).

Asteroid Persephone is stationing direct in Libra as she forms aspects to Chiron and Uranus, two transpersonal heavyweights in the outer solar system, both at the beginning of a new era.  When I see this I know that I can’t make sense of everything that happens to me right away.  Things need time to unfold fully, and we need time to gain perspective. But there’s a certain feeling of flailing that comes with letting go of the need to understand everything.

Mars is already inside his retrograde shadow.  He will station direct in the final degrees of Capricorn in August and September of this year. His square to Uranus, his opposition to oracle Hekate, and his quincunx to chaos fucker Apophis depict a type of frantic haste towards a poorly understood goal.  I was meditating on this idea on May 15th, trying to make sense of this message in context of Uranus in Taurus… and then, I was visited by a moth.

This spooky magical moth messed with my head in ways I can’t begin to describe, it tied all of these astrological aspects together into a single idea, and it is the perfect animal totem for Uranus in Taurus:

“In navigation, when we observe the moth to fly into artificial light or flames, the moth demonstrates its faith and determination… It is still unproven as to why the moth is driven to light – Even at the risk of loosing its life, the moth is ever-vigilant in following its path of light… This makes her open to distraction, vulnerable to harm… with higher perception we sometimes overstep into the realm of confusion.”  -Myriel RAouine, LightGrid

Over the next seven years, Uranus in Taurus will see major developments in virtual reality, cryptocurrency, and technological advances in nutrition, medicine, and surgery.  It will also have a strong influence on major earthquakes and weather changes that effect land use.  But it’s most important to remember that these events will be manifestations of the collective experience of being, and as individuals we are all making a contribution. I open my heart to the sky and listen for the echo…

“Some people can run a lot of light. This is independent of how much they have or have not made conscious and integrated their shadow.

Charisma is a quality of magnetism that is so delicious you find yourself wanting to be undone by it. You might say wanting to be taken in. As in: deceived. As in: devoured.

On the whole as a society we have valued charisma far more than we have integration (integrity). As the value now shifts and balances, those who have developed great charisma to compensate for (and disguise) their lack of integrity become more visible.

Are we willing to acknowledge that part of us that wants to be deceived? Wants to give its power away to the charismatic one?

Good to be alert when you are infatuated with someone’s light.

Take time to observe.

You can be open and kind and still be very discerning.”

Lauren Worsh

This passage brilliantly summarizes the challenge of Uranus in Taurus, especially considering the first major aspect will be Saturn’s trine to Uranus from July through October of this year during Saturn station direct.  Saturn trine Uranus is all about Integrity.

At the moment of Uranus ingress Taurus, the Sun and Moon are each conjunct the two most prominent fixed stars in Taurus, Capulus and Algol, respectively.  The Sun conjunct Capulus exposes those who rely on charisma to disguise their lack of integrity; The Moon conjunct Algol and Sedna puts the spotlight on healing the feminine’s wounds of betrayal.

And in Gemini, Venus is transiting conjunct asteroids Athena and Isis, wisdom and lovelight as we prepare for Thursday’s Moon-Venus conjunction correlating to Inanna’s ascent through the solar plexus chakra, in synchronicity with asteroid Persephone station direct.  Stay tuned for all this and more from Planetary Clarity.
