On September 30th 2017, asteroid Sekhmet aligns with the Moon’s north node in a rare and strange precision dance. Conjunct the mean node at 21° Leo and the true node 23° Leo, Sekhmet at 22° Leo aligns with the celestial equator, shifting from south to north in declination (celestial latitude). Then, on October 10th 2017, the day that Jupiter enters Scorpio, Sekhmet crosses over the ecliptic of the Sun- in other words, she transits her own north node. (The lunar north node is simply the point where the Moon crosses above the ecliptic- the orbits of all planets and asteroids cross the ecliptic and therefore have north and south nodes.) We have designated the spacetime surrounding our planet into zones defined by north and south, up and down, and as as we witness the asteroid that bears her name rising from below to above, Sekhmet awakens to her northern ascending expression: Sa Sekhem Sahu. Meet Sekhmet in the power of sacred breath passing through the heartspace, awakening and integrating the multidimensional layers of the body.
SA: The breath of life/ Life force
SEKHEM: POWER associated with the concept of Kundalini Energy. “Sekhem is the power that animates the Sahu- it is the power that leads one to spiritual consciousness.”
SAHU: The spiritual body. Sahu is “one of the five bodies of each human according to Egyptian cosmology. Sekhmet is associated with the awakening of the five bodies, particularly the Sahu. The Sahu is made conscious through spiritual practice. The awakening of the Sahu is the last stage of the integration of the five bodies, the final stage in becoming a realized human.”

As asteroid Sekhmet transits the Moon’s north node on September 29th, and reaches the celestial equator on September 30th, she joins the long-term grand fire trine with the north node in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius, and Eris in Aries, opening the door to the next level of being, the door to the future. (Previous Article- North Node Trine Saturn: Persistence) Sekhmet trine Saturn is the closest aspect on this chart, expanding our understanding of past, present, and future as simultaneously occurring parts of who we are. Next week during the Aries Full Moon, Sekhmet transits the degree of the August 21st solar eclipse, forming another grand fire trine with Uranus and Lilith.
Jupiter has completed his opposition to Uranus, the final checkpoint at the end of his transit through Libra. He stationed retrograde opposite Uranus and Eris in February, and formed three squares to Pluto, enhancing power struggles that created the necessity of transforming our orientation towards conflict resolution, and removing blockages that prevented us from true deep listening and feeling heard. Jupiter’s journey through Scorpio begins October 10th.
Mars and Venus are forming a trine to Pluto in Capricorn as they merge in Virgo, amplifying the creation/destruction themes we see wherever gender is polarized. I will go more in-depth on the Mars-Venus relationship next week when their conjunction culminates on October 5th during the Aries Full Moon. With Mars ruling the Aries Moon and Venus ruling the Libra Sun, this full moon will be a bolt of lightning in the darkness. The key word is surrender.
Besides Sekhmet trine Saturn, the next closest aspect on the chart for Sekhmet’s alignment with the celestial equator, is Vesta square Juno. Vesta is conjunct the Sun in Libra, docking at our mothership with the ideals of love as a ritual. Vesta was a major influence on the themes of the previous Mercury Retrograde, which was inseperable from the themes of the solar eclipse in Leo, so the upcoming Sun/Mercury conjunction, and the current Sun/Vesta conjunction, are truly heralding a fresh new beginning, a new cycle for the goddess of the heart-flame. The square from Juno is the voice of reason, cold maybe but she speaks a harsh truth. Vesta and Juno have the same energetic polarity as the ascendant and descendant, self vs. others, identity vs. projections. Juno is on a clean up mission in Capricorn, erecting new boundaries out of the ruins of what Pluto has left behind.
Stay tuned for the very exciting astrology of October that includes Sekhmet’s northern ascension, Mars conjunct Venus, the Aries Full Moon, Jupiter’s ingress into Scorpio, and so much more.
